Employee Involvement (Volunteerism)
Kimball employees routinely give volunteer man hours, participating in publicity events, fundraisers and auctions. The Company encourages employees to become involved in civic and charitable projects.

Kimball takes a decentralized approach to its community projects, allowing the employees and management teams of each operating unit location to decide which events or causes provide the greatest benefit to their local community. However, philosophically the Company encourages support for those programs which improve the human condition, such as health, social services and education.

Kimball recognizes the importance of employee volunteer activity and encourages active participation. Employees are able to utilize the Company's flexible scheduling of personal vacation to allow time for volunteerism. In addition, managers have discretion to allow certain fundraising or donation collection activities to occur in the workplace.

Through the Company's internal newsletters and online intranet news, employee philanthropy and volunteer activity is recognized, successes shared and future actions encouraged.

Kimball Delivers the Goods - Feeding Families
Kimball Logistics employees and truck drivers participated in the "Feeding Families Food Drive" to collect shelf-stable and canned good items for distribution to regional food banks. The program was initiated and coordinated by Holiday World, a large amusement park in southern Indiana. Visitors to the park were asked to donate one or more food items for admission into the park. Kimball supplied semi trailers and panel trucks to store and deliver the 20,000 cans and boxes of collected food items to the Tri-State Food Bank which serves the needy in 33 counties.

National's Caring Culture - Cold Weather, Warm Hearts
When the worst winter ice storms in memory hit the NOF-Fordsville (Kentucky) area last January, the entire community and surrounding area was without power. Ice brought down trees, snapped electrical lines, caved in roods of homes and stores, and made life difficult. That left thousands of people without heat, lights or access to daily conveniences like banks, grocery stores or gas stations for four weeks. Announcing the news through the company, employees of National and Kimball jumped into action. The first wave of help arrived within a few days with emergency supply shipments of food, kerosene heaters, fuel containers, flashlights, and batteries, purchased by National on behalf of its employees. In the following days, cash and non-perishable donations poured in to the Kimball Logistics Center for a delivery to the Fordsville facility. Combined with the first wave of goods, Fordsville employees set up a food pantry in one of their conference rooms to provide their fellow employees and their families with the essentials to get through this challenging situation. Enough items were donated to operate the food pantry for three and a half weeks.

Adopt-A-Street volunteers teamed up to pick up trash on the street near their office. At another location, 40 NOF employees gave up their lunch break to clean up the highway along the front of their plant's property.
