Kimball makes great efforts to screen and select its global supply chain partners.
Supplier environmental requirements provide suppliers with information and support on regulatory compliance and environmentally preferred materials and processes.
Kimball International held its first "Green Suppliers" Conference this past year, as a means to open dialogue with current and potential suppliers to inform them about Kimball expectations.
Helping our suppliers along their own sustainability journey ultimately benefits Kimball.
Likewise, Kimball is proud that we have been successfully audited by numerous customers and suppliers, and that we have met their high standards for sustainability and environmental issues.
Kimball Office provides its suppliers and potential suppliers with a Supplier Environmental Requirements Summary, which outlines Kimball policies and expectations, as well as a self assessment tool. This criteria-based supplier environmental assessment is used as a prescreening instrument for new or potential suppliers and also for existing suppliers through a retro-implementation effort. Combined with other criteria, this information is incorporated into a "Supplier Scorecard" for Kimball's ongoing supplier relationship management program.
This supplier assessment process is in implementation globally, not just domestically.
Kimball Office is also registered as a Corporate Champion in the EPA's Green Supplier Network program.
National Office Furniture also works cooperatively with its vendors and distribution partners to find "green" solutions and encourages its suppliers to adopt sustainable choices.
