Michelle Schroeder, Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer
An example of the hundreds of women within Kimball's management and professional employees is Michelle Schroeder, Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer.

Women play key roles throughout Kimball operations, leading such diverse functions as brand marketing, finance, information systems security, human resources, and legal counsel. We are confident that women will continue to grow personally and professionally along with our company.

Perhaps no better example could be stated than that of Michelle Schroeder, Vice President and our Chief Accounting Officer. She began her Kimball career in 1984, serving in several marketing and administrative roles before taking a leave in 1993 to pursue a degree in accounting. Schroeder earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and took the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination. Schroeder is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and has been active in the development and continuing education of CMAs within Kimball International. She returned to Kimball in 1996 as a Financial Analyst and held several additional accounting roles leading to her appointment as Vice President, Corporate Controller in 2004.

She has responsibility for worldwide accounting and financial reporting, including Securities and Exchange Commission filings and internal management accounting. With her May 2009 promotion to the position of Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, she assumed the added responsibilities for corporate taxation, including worldwide tax planning and compliance.
